Welcome to the Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency Interactive Television Network. 

Interactive Television, or ITV provides the means to bring the students and teachers of Newaygo County together in a fully interactive way that is both affordable and easy for everyone.  It is a way to overcome boundaries and offer students the opportunity to take classes that would not typically be available in their local school district due to budget constraints or low class enrollments. Since the system was put into operation in 1996 we have seen over 750 students enrolled in interactive television classes.

The distance learning classrooms use a multimedia approach to teaching that encompasses many types of technology including computers, fax machines, video and voice.  It offers the chance for creativity and the opportunity to share individual talents with others.  There are distance learning classrooms installed in each of the high schools in Newaygo county, as well as additional classrooms at the Educational Service Center in Fremont.  The classrooms are totally interactive.  They allow students and teachers in two or more locations to see each other, conduct classes and work together on projects in real time.  There is even a portable room that can be operated from any internet connected classroom in the county.

We also offer the ability to connect a classroom, either fixed or portable, to any place in the world or beyond that has ISDN or IP video conferencing capabilities.  This is accomplished trough the use of our Polycom system.  This system can be utilized by anyone, not just schools.  Since 2005, when we added the portable ITV room to our network, we have seen over  1200 students participating in 60 different virtual field trips and collaborative projects with other classrooms in Michigan and elsewhere in the country.
